How much do dentures cost on the NHS?
In England, NHS dentures are a Band 3 treatment, £332.10 when we checked on 20 October 2026. The charge covers the whole course, including the check-up and any fillings or extractions done in it. Repairing dentures costs nothing on the NHS; if they cannot be repaired, you pay for new ones.
Dentures are custom-made from impressions of your gums. Adding to an existing denture is a Band 2 treatment, £76.60. Adjusting dentures can be part of the £27.90 urgent charge.
Implants are usually private. Our implants page explains the rare cases in which the NHS provides them.

Questions people ask
Can I get dentures on the NHS?
Yes. Dentures are a Band 3 NHS treatment in England, £332.10, and free if you qualify for free NHS dental treatment. Ask the practice whether it is taking new NHS patients.
Do I pay to have my dentures repaired?
Not on the NHS. The NHS says you do not pay when your dentures need to be repaired. If they cannot be repaired, you pay for new ones.
How do I know a practice offers this treatment?
Each profile lists the treatments that practice says it provides. Services and dentists change, so ask the practice to confirm before you book.
What should I ask before booking?
Ask which dentist will treat you, whether the treatment is available on the NHS or only privately, and for a written treatment plan and costs before any work starts.
Can I switch dentist part-way through treatment?
Yes, you can choose another practice at any time. The new practice will need to assess you and may not be able to continue another practice's plan, so ask your current practice for your records and the treatment plan, and ask the new one what it can take on.
Are the practices listed here checked?
Every practice listed was on the Care Quality Commission register of dental services when its details were read from that register, and each profile shows that date. Practices that have claimed their listing have also passed our ownership check. This site is independent and not affiliated with the GDC, CQC or NHS.
